No one ever said it would be easy, that the road ahead would be absent of obstacles and no one knew there would be a force so strong that things would start to gravitate in a reverse direction preventing forward motion. We often try our best to avoid change because of fear of the unknown and the uncertainty that comes along with it, however it's best to embrace that change because quite honestly what is written is what shall be. If this year held a scorecard 2020 would be in the lead and the entire universe would be trailing behind with a huge loss and disadvantage with little to no hope of taking the lead. As things continued to unfold we watched and waited as if it was playing out on television as the most dramatic year ever. The continued need to have something to smile about, something to make us proud to hold our heads high and to finally see a brighter day is just the dose of medicine this world needed. As I listened to the victory speeches from President Elect, Mr. Joseph R. Biden, Jr. and 'Madam Vice President', Mrs. Kamala D. Harris I felt a joy so sweet that chills started to run throughout my body and tears of joy began to fall. Can someone pinch me so that I know this is real? Oh baby, it's real and long overdue! The pledges of unity, ending division as a human race, working together as one and healing this country. The message of hope, of possibilities to come regardless of gender, regardless of race made the nation stand up and commence to screaming and shouting.
So where do we go from here is the question that so many want to know the answer to. I would love to take a step into the future to assure you that things will move forward without challenge and void of frustration, but we all know thats the furthest thing from reality. I will sit back and relish in this moment, be mindful that change is never easy and prepare for chapter 46. Without doubt, it will be a page turner! We are living in the here and now, and we are a part of history. The most votes received by a presidential candidate, amassing more than 70 million and the very first woman and woman of color as Vice President of The United States of America. Let that sink in! When barriers are broken it begins to open the door for so many walking in your path. For all the little girls who are dreamers who have been told it's impossible, take notice and realize that if you want it there is nothing that can keep you from obtaining it, so by all means go out and get what's yours. The fight for equality, liberty and justice for all does not end here, it's a long road ahead but the way my faith works I know we are finally moving in the right direction. A season of change has begun and the time is now. When the cards are stacked against you it can sometimes feel hopeless, leaving the path ahead quite rocky, blurry and uncertain, but when you get to the other side of victory you are finally able to see clearly. As the entire country watched this election unfold, there was anticipation, fear, and we were stressed the f!@k out! And now, we exhale. Dream with ambition, lead with conviction and see yourselves in a way that others may not, simply because they have never seen it before. -MVP, Kamala D. Harris ~AJ 💙

Your post made me think how when we are toddlers we stare up at mobiles suspended from our ceilings of our nurseries, wishing we could fly. If you put a glass or window above us as toddlers, we’d still only see the mobile. As adults we look up and feel obstructed by and only see the so called glass ceiling. What if we had it right as kids? What if we were to see only what’s beyond the glass? What if that glass ceiling wasn’t a ceiling at all—-what if it’s really just a sunroof? What if we show ambition, dedication, perseverance, honesty, integrity, intelligence—would that open the sunroof and let us touch the sky, just as Kamala and Barack have? People say “one wonders”, successful people hear that and think “one tries!”

Yes, yes and yes! We allow barriers to be placed before us and accept it for so long not knowing our own strength. Our ability to do wondrous things and make magnificent strides towards change and beautiful visions is what inspires and pushes the next generation to live out loud. I think we did have it right as kids, if only we could go back just for a while to get this reminders. ☺️
