The world is always buzzing about something. What happened last month, what didn't happen last week, how will you tackle what happened yesterday and the haunting worries for what is to come today. The newsflash is, life doesn't wait for you to get ready, it just happens. Ok, have a great day! Imagine if that was the basis for my story and that was all I had to say, well it is, in a sense. Have you noticed how social media feels far from social these days. The height of influencers, content creators, and AI have taken over the simplest of things, and that is human connection and thought. We are told what to think, how to feel, when we should be mad, when we should be over that anger and what the next topic is. The million-dollar question; what truly pisses you off? I mean seriously take a moment to think about what really grinds your gears. Is it the mysterious coworker who continues to steal your lunch, but washes the container for you? Does their thoughtful gesture to wash your container make you less mad? Or is it perhaps your neighbor who blows their leaves into your yard, yet smiles and says good morning every time you see them. Do you say forget it about it because they seem so kind and chipper? You move on, or do something about it. Am I right, or am I right?! I mean make a choice here. The outrageousness of selective outrage is that it's so blatantly obvious. There is no middle ground and it comes with no resolve. It's like falling rain on a perfectly sunny day, now you see it and now you don't, because it's gone, the sun is back out and you have forgotten all about those little rain drops that threatened to ruin your day. What if we were so alarmed by the actions of others that we actually took a stand towards change. The frame is that of a question, yet this is a blaring statement. I stand in no place to judge as I am just as guilty. My thoughts are a mere observation of the world moving around me, yet I am amused by others and how they express their frustration, or lack thereof. Hypocrisy, basically. Getting mad about one groups actions, but ignoring, downplaying, justifying when another group displays the same actions. I have a pondering personality, about all things. I cannot turn off my think tank. My Google search would return a mass of confusion for even the most clever detective. I can assure you, with great certainty, I have a thought about most things. You might not be surprised by that. Insert laughter here if that's what you want to do with your life. If not, be angry, but make it across the board. See what I did there? Choose your battles wisely, if not they will overcome your thoughts, those thoughts will consume you and place you into mass hysteria and you will suddenly be one of those angry humans who can't seem to get their shit together. What if the thoughts against one place, person or thing was evenly spread like jam on toast should be, I'm not saying that would make the anger warranted, I'm just saying one discretion is just as bad as the other, doesn't change just because you like the persons outfit and they were extra nice to you today. Did this trigger a nerve? If so, you my friend are dealing with the outrageousness of selective outrage. ~AJ 🤔

"It matters not what I write or how I write; be it dreadful, awful, terrible, no matter what I write, I am a writer. That is all that matters" ~James Baldwin
